Pyrex Teapots
Tea is something that has been around for thousands of years. Many people in ancient times began to feel that many teas offered them huge health benefits. The fact was, they were actually right and many teas were actually acting as herbal remedies for them on a daily basis. Of course, even though technology was not really available in ancient times, there was still a need for people to use teapots. They would literally use anything they could find that could withstand heat and help them to brew their tea. Anything that could consider helping brew tea and withstand boiling water was called a teapot. Some were used for brewing, some for serving and some for both.
Nowadays, people have a lot more choice, as there are lots of technologically advanced manufacturing processes that mean people can use all sorts of materials to make teapots. One of these is Pyrex Teapots, which are products that are becoming much more popular these days. Instead of pots that just offer functionality, Pyrex teapots actually offer immense amounts of style as well.
Pyrex teapots have not been around as long as many people might think. The first teapots would have been made out of cast iron, steel and sometimes ceramics. The first teapot recorded is on show now at the Flagstaff House Museum, which dates back to 1513, although we know there we much earlier examples. It was not until much later that Pyrex was thrown into the equation. Pyrex did not really stake its claim on the tea world until at least the early 1900s.
Pyrex is essentially a glass product; so many people were skeptical about how strong it really was. The fact is, this is not any ordinary glass, it is made out of borosilicate glass. This material was suitable for things such as baking, so making a cup of tea was certainly within its comfort range. Many people thought that it was going to be prone to breaking, but with its higher strength than normal glass the possibility of this happening is extremely slim.
The main reason people use Pyrex teapots these days are because they are extremely visually pleasing. Unlike big cast iron or other metal products, they are great to look at, and they allow guests to see exactly what they are consuming. This is a huge advantage, as it brings a lot of character to the home. They are fairly basic in comparison to electronic products, but they are still great additions to the home.
