Organic Chai Tea

With growing concerns for the environment, the use of organic products is on the rise. That is the reason why organic fruits, vegetables and meat are stacking the racks in markets across the globe. Even beverages are no exception. Organic versions of favorite beverages like coffee and tea are now becoming popular the globe over, and one such popular drink is the Organic Chai Tea.

Organic chai tea is just like normal tea, but the procedure of growing it is very different when compared with the conventional variety. This form of tea is cultivated and grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Only natural compost is used to enrich the soil in which the tea plants are grown, while a mulch layer helps in retaining the moisture content, as well as furnishing the plant with extra nutrients. Slowly, the layer of mulch disintegrates and breaks down over time.

Although the procedure involved in growing the organic variety of tea is quite labor intensive, the resultant tea can be of superior quality. In fact, many countries of the world are adopting organic chai tea production so as to provide people with the best varieties of tea. The aroma, taste and color of organic tea are very distinct and improved, unlike conventional breeds of tea. It also possesses various health promoting catechins and polyphenols. These antioxidants are responsible for freshening up the mind and body, giving a rejuvenated feeling.

On the part of tea farmers, producing organic tea can be much more viable and cost effective. Tea plants have an average life span of almost a hundred years. By resorting to the organic mode of farming, tea plants may need more labor to ensure their health, but organic chai tea can achieve higher prices than non-organic types.

But before you choose to buy organic tea, you need to be doubly sure about its organic nature. Not all 'organic' labeled tea packets are known to be organic. Packaged variety of organic chai tea needs to undergo proper certification from the concerned agencies. Only then can you know you will be reliably enjoying the taste of organic chai tea.
