Metal Teapots

Drinking tea is something that the majority of people do every single day. The question is though; where did Metal Teapots come from? Well, there are lots of different theories about who invented them first and why they got so popular. Most people believe that the Chinese were the first to start creating their own metal teapots, as they were brewing so many different types of green tea thousands of years ago.

The reality is that metal teapots are here now, and they are here to stay. Originally they were created as they were found to be a material that could withstand the heat of a fire. Many people would use a fire to stay warm, cook food, and also to heat up water as well. They would use this hot water to create tea and metal teapots were the perfect for this.

Of course, there were plenty of problems for these people to overcome. For instance, unlike nowadays, with teabags readily available, in ancient times they always used the whole leaves. This presented problems as they had to boil the leaves in the tea and then some how remove them. The problem was quickly resolved by ensuring there was an infuser or filter that would separate the leaves from the tea once it was ready.

Over the years different styles, shapes, sizes and types of metal teapots have been created. Some of the best teapots were those made hundreds of years ago and many people are going back to these products as they help to build a character in a home.

Cast iron metal teapots were not just some of the best teapots around, but they were also one of the most unique looking. They were originally made out of this material because there was not really any other choice, but now people prefer cast iron metal teapots thanks to their unique style and the extra character that they give off. Generally, people use the cast iron metal teapots as both a vessel to brew the tea, but also a product to serve it in as well. They are extremely durable if looked after correctly.

Metal teapots made from silver are not the most popular as in ancient times, like today, silver was very expensive and not actually very durable. In fact, everything about silver does not lend itself to be a good teapot making material. However, there are many people that buy this for the luxury value.

Metal teapots made from steel were certainly a popular choice in the past. This metal was readily available, but also fairly cheap as well. Whilst steel does not seem to retain heat particularly well, people found that it did the job well and therefore was suitable to use as a metal teapot.
