Ma Huang Tea

Ma Huang Tea comes from the Ma Huang plant. This is a cone bearing shrub that has been important to Chinese culture for thousands of years. Throughout history, there has been documentation that supports the fact that the Chinese have used the Ma Huang plant as part of their herbal remedy recipes. It has been used to treat a number of problems, including breathing problems and conditions. Once other countries cottoned on to the fact that this plant was of some use, it started to be used on a much wider scale. It suddenly became popular in the USA and people were using it not as medicine, but for dietary and energy needs.

It was taken in much higher doses, sometimes through Ma Huang tea, which led to some health related issues that were not foreseen. There have been reports of deaths due to taking too much of the plants resources. The USA has taken this so seriously that no supplement containing the ingredient can now be sold there.

People that used Ma Huang tea as intended got a lot more from it. It was generally used for things such as asthma and bronchitis, with some excellent results. In fact, even basic coughs and colds were helped away thanks to remedies like Ma Huang tea. Other things soon came into play and people realized that this could actually be an extremely useful weight loss aid, although this was considered a measure that could be taken with extreme caution.

The recipe for making Ma Huang tea is not complicated at all. Whether the tea is being used due to dieting, general health or simply for its unique taste, the recipe tends to be the same. Remember that this may help people to become healthier, sometimes even to lose weight, but should not be taken in excessive doses.

For every 8 ounces of boiling water, the brewer should add half a teaspoon of Ma Huang. This herbal quantity should not be increased for any reason. After this has been added, allow the steeping process to take place for around 10 minutes. After this is completed, strain the tea, stir, relax and enjoy it!

There are a lot of side affects that are related to Ma Huang tea, unlike a lot of other green teas. One of the first things to understand is that high doses are simply not a wise idea. Too much of this herbal tea could cause things like high blood pressure and black outs, rather than actually helping the body, it could make it even worse.

If taking Ma Huang simply to lose weight, it is worth doing more research. Taking Ma Huang alone is not going to allow a person to lose weight. They need to exercise, diet and take care of their body in general. Misuse of this product for weight loss could be disastrous and could really damage the body in the long term.
