Gynostemma is fast becoming one of the best known teas in the world. The plant itself comes from the Cucurbitaceae family, the same one that the cucumber belongs to. The Gynostemma Tea plant is most likely to be found is the Southern parts of China, Japan, and Korea. This plant is known for its properties as it can act as an anti-oxidant, making people feel extremely invigorated.


The popularity surrounding the Gynostemma tea is not just due to the fact that it helps people feel fresh though. It helps to lower the amount of cholesterol, not to mention reducing blood pressure and generally increasing the quality of the immune system in the body.


The Gynostemma tea plant is known as a climbing vine, like many other organic teas. The thing that differs with this plant in comparison to others in its family is that it does not produce any fruit. Most of the testing related to the Gynostemma tea plant was done on animals. The results proved that the mix of herbs produced from the plant would be able to strengthen the heart. Things such as a larger stroke volume and better flow of blood were all results of the test.

Brewing a cup of Gynostemma tea is simple. Place the tea in a teacup or pot and allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes. A longer steeping process will need to be executed for people that want a much stronger cup of Gynostemma tea.
