Chinese Teapots
Chinese Teapots are immensely popular products. Over the years they have changed in shape, size and their decorative features can be quite unique to given periods of time. A Chinese teapot is simply a device that helps to brew tea, or helps to keep tea warm once it has been brewed. They tend to incorporate a range of different features, so no one teapot is the same as the next one. Many will incorporate a type of strainer that will allow the person brewing the tea to extract the last extra bits of flavor before actually serving the tea. Of course, this strainer also helps to ensure that the leaves do not fall into the tea and that the tea is fresh.
The process of brewing tea does vary depending on a few different things. For instance, one tea leaf might need to be brewed for just a minute to extract the maximum amount of flavor. Over brewing some teas can make them taste like vegetation rather than a cup of tea. The quality of the tea has a lot to do with how long people brew them using Chinese teapots. For instance, a low quality tea will generally need to be brewed for much longer than a higher quality tea.
Sometimes though, Chinese teapots are used as a more decorative feature in the home. Once the tea has been brewed elsewhere, people use the teapots to serve the tea to their guests. Generally there will be a small filter in the spout, that ensures any small bits of tea that have managed to escape do not end up in the cup.
The original Chinese teapots were created based on ceramic kettles. Over time, different Chinese teapots were developed, which all had different features. For instance a cast iron teapot was great for heating the tea, but insulating them so that the user did not get burnt was sometimes a problem. The oldest recorded teapot to this day is on show at the Flagstaff House Museum. It dates back to 1513, although many believe that Chinese teapots were used long before this time.
Over time there have been many variations of the teapot. After people realized that tea was actually a big industry, many manufacturers attempted to replicate Chinese teapots and offer them for sale. Many countries battled for market share against the Chinese, although people tend to prefer the traditional Chinese teapots to any other to this day.
The advantages of using Chinese teapots are great. They have their own character and are an excellent addition to any home. Many manufacturers offer some extremely decorative features that ensure they are unique and are a great decorative addition to any kitchen.
